Khmer Rouge jailer gets 35 years
Kaing Guek Eav, also known as Duch, has been sentenced to 35 years in prison for various crimes against humanity and violations of the Geneva Convention by a United Nations-backed tribunal in Cambodia. He is the first high-ranking member of the Khmer Rouge to be tried and convicted by the body, in his case for actions take while in charge of detainees. Cambodia Tribunal Monitor
